I noticed that the ignition light was flickering on ticker on my 1979 dodge 50 and after a run the rear of the camper was speckled with soot .my mate thought it could be low oil pressure and told me to try slick 50 oil additive .I did and it cured both problems .any thoughts ? regards tel

have you tried putting a bag over the engine filler spout when engine is idling? see if it sucks or blows?
the slick 50 might have cleaned the end of the oil pressure sensor so the warning has gone out?

I remember having to take the sump off my first dodge with a 4.236 engine and take the oil pressure releaf valve out (sounds complicated but it really isn't) and free it up, yes with some oil and a light tap with a hammer, and put it back again, this cured my oil pressure problem,
