done a booboo on the g13, bus been standing for a while and brakes had locked so i put it in gear to try and rock it out then CLUNK now the prop turns and big clunking sound coming from it but nor drive, well if i put it in 4rth it'll drive and slip, is it most likely to be the half shafts or diff? has anyone got any of those for sale?? cheers cel |

Re:half shafts Date Posted:25/04/2010 10:18:58Copy HTML Ummmm sounds like the diff, have you tried jacking it up, both wheels off the ground and turned one wheel by hand, to see if the other wheel turns, it does sound like a diff problem though as i had a diff go once and the noise from the diff was a vey loud clunking, taking out the half shafts would confirm it though if they are intact, it might be that a shaft is knackered and the spline is rounded off, bit hard to say without looking t it though.

Re:half shafts Date Posted:26/04/2010 10:26:19Copy HTML hello :) thanks for the reply, havent taken anything off yet to check, havent had the funds and didnt weant to start dismantling it and it bein sat like that, selling acar this wwek which is goin to fund gettin the bus on the road for the first time :), i'm based near caernarfon in north wales,
i rang the people in leeds who deal with parts and tey wanted £300 for a diff or £60 each for shafts, so just doingf a bit of shopping araound :) cheers cel |
