Date Posted:13/03/2012 10:09:58Copy HTML Hi just wanting to clarify I could pull a trailer, with a small car on it, behind my dodge camper van. Fancy trip to Cornwall but leave the van and get about in missus small car.
Van plate says 5600kg gross with 8100kg train weight, car and trailer (braked) & less than 2000kg. VIN SDGB56A0FKD222105. Got C1E on my licence, default from taken test ages ago. Plus any advice on pre-empting VOSA stopping us since we have 'pull me' written all over us. :-) |

Re:My camper van and trailer limits Date Posted:15/03/2012 03:38:57Copy HTML with a C1e licence you are allowed : "Combinations of vehicles where the towing vehicle is in subcategory C1
and its trailer has a MAM of over 750 kg provided that the MAM of the
combination thus formed does not exceed 12,000 kg and MAM of the trailer
does not exceed the unladen mass of the towing vehicle."
So basicaly in your case as long as your trailer and car do not exceed the weight of your dodge you are fine. In advice for VOSA... just make sure cars secured to trailer safely, car doesnt exceed plated weight of trailer etc etc |
