Can anyone point me to which of the jpegs in the microfiched mk2 workshop manual shows everything about the lift pump? My connection's too slow to read them one by one...

 its image number 0000093 but it isn't very helpful, looks like they have used pretty much the same as the image for the Mk1
the main difference is that the fuel in & out are in different places, there might be slight differences internally but fitting the pipes is hard when you have the wrong one.

link for the mk2 fuel lift pump (on ebay for 20 quid or so too)
