I have a Renault Dodge 50 S66, 3 speed automatic with just under 10,000 miles driven. It is a non starter but the engine does turn. It has not been started for about 3 years and much to my own personal disappointment, I have neglected it. I have lived in it for the past 8 years, but times they are a changing, so yes there has been a hippy involved, but hopefully that will not put you off. I have had my hair cut now, but I am left with a truck I need to move.

Dreams of travelling with it died when I drove it around Cornwall 5 years ago and it nearly bankrupted me. It was also painfully slow and due to high revs of a 3 speed automatic, not very quiet. It did run smooth as a nut though.

I am not a mechanic, but I have had the starter motor off to test it and it works fine. When I put it back on and put a higher torque battery on it it turned over once, puffed out some smoke and then stopped. When I turned it over again the positive connection on the starter motor started to smoke. All the connections were cleaned so I am confused about the contacts. Too much torque maybe. As I said before I am not a mechanic and my most knowledgeable friend is stumped too.

I would like someone to have the truck, who is going to love it. The vehicle came from Luton Airport. It was used to deliver luggage to the planes, I guess that explains the low mileage. I removed bits to leave a flat bed and put a steel framed, aluminium sheeted box on it, cut some windows and a put a sky light in it and lived very comfortably for years to come. It moved around yearly with no problem but the last three years I lost interest.

If anyone is interested in talking about some options, please feel free to ask questions. I have pictures, but before posting them I wanted to get an idea if there would be any interest. I would like to see it restored and if I can get some money back on it, even better, but I am more interested that it goes to a good home rather than a scrap yard.

Chris
