Hello everyone. New here. I presently own a very nice 101. And was looking to buy one of Withams mint RB 44,s. But as its been pointed out to me,i wont be able to drive it in the london LEZ from feb 2012. Can anyone tell me if they have managed to fit filters to the Perkins Phaser unit. And if so how succesful??. Also has anyone done any engine conversions.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice given.

1# you will be allowed to go in once but you will then receive a letter telling you not to do it again.
2# If you use the complience checker on the TFL website just put in your registration number and it will tell you of your situation.
3# if you buy one from Witham try to get it registered as a "motor tractor" this may exempt you. you could Forget about agricultural there are too many rules to fall foul of. Best would be to register it as a car like your 101 and there wont be any problem
4# Be very wary of towing a trailer because of the weight of the combined unit goes over 3.5tonnes (including fuel, oil driver tools etc) you may well need an operators licence and a Tachograph. if you are ever stopped never let it slip that you are being paid or even having your mate contribute something towards the diesel. This could be taken as an admission of hire and reward and thus illegal.

The Mayor of london and VOSA are trying to stop old trucks from using the roads so many of the old tricks agri/forestry etc designed to avoid MOT or road tax are being scrutinised.
