Greg

if you want to get registered then the lady to contact is Carol Bowman, HM Customs and Excise, Regent Centre, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE3 3PF. Her number is 0191 201 1812 she will send you a form(EX103) which you have to fill in and send back, then you wil get a letter asking you some basic questions and asking you to outline your method for making biodiesel and then you may get 'entered'(inspected), most people do, somehow I managed to get registered as a biodiesel producer without an inspection(but I'm still expecting a surprise visit early one morning!), but things have tightened up a lot lately, tell her you want to register as a home biodiesel producer(as opposed to commercial) and that you are only experimenting but thought you had better make things legal, it doesn't cost anything to register it's better to be registered than getting caught without being regd as it's a ?500 fine and tow away costs for the vehicle being impounded, it can take several weeks to get registered, you don't get a piece of paper to show to police but you do get a registration number which they can check out - Im here if you need any more help.

I have started putting a webpage together for mix method, amounts etc, very basic at the moment, but will add more when I get time.

Collaborative biodiesel tutorial website

A bunch of us biodiesel nutters have been working on a collaborative wiki website for beginners to biodiesel making, it is specifically aimed at the homebrew biodieseler, and will be added to as more people contribute to the project.

you can see the wiki at
