I've been replacing the rear brake shoes on a C reg 4x4 Dodge 50. Im having trouble getting everything to fit and wondering about some parts (someone else took it apart some time ago). Its got twin rear wheels and the brakes are of the type in the diagram (which I found on dodge50.co.uk)  1st the spring which I've got fitted to the bottom of the shoes I put stretching from green hole 1-2. I cant get the adjuster to fit as the spring will never stretch far enough and it looks if I fitted the spring to 3-4 it would be too long. Anyone know which holes I should use 3-2 maybe??? the Also there is a shorter spring which I think goes through a 'loop' at the bottom of the back plate and hooks on where??? The top spring (shown in red) I guess goes in front of the handbrake cable? The spring on one side is shaped to clear this spring I think. With the shoes fitted onto the push rods coming out of the slave cyclinder the red spring wants to sit up against the bottom half of the slave cylinder where it will rub against the rubber dust seals. This really doesnt look right, although I guess this position may change a bit when the adjuster is fitted in between the bottom of the shoes . Somehow it doesnt look as if this will improve this much. Am I missing something? Anyone got any photos of their fitted brake shoes?? Also one of the hold down rods is missing anyone know where I can get one? |

I have pics of the s75 brakes and might have one of the other types,

Re：Mk 1 S65 4x4 brakes Date Posted：09/05/2013 05:45:56Copy HTML the image you have put up is from the mk2 1987-93 4 inch rear brakes, this is the one from the 3 inch width rear shoes (though not much different), what colour is the bottom spring and what colour is the top spring and they are coloured / sided or at least ment to be.
The springs should be tight though, have you read through the refitting instructions here [url]http://www.dodge50.co.uk/m121p2.html[/url] note the arrow shows the forward direction of the drum / wheel, the image you popped up is reversed as you can see the handbrake pawl is towards the front when it should be towards the rear. Re：Mk 1 S65 4x4 brakes Date Posted：17/05/2013 05:39:13Copy HTML This the near side brake set up on a 4x4 S75 but I reckon Dazzzer has a 4x4 S56 or 66 set up on his mk1 going by the original brake picture he posted from the site, this one had a new cylinder fitted and was popped on a mk2 s75 4x4.
