Date Posted：09/03/2011 10:29:33Copy HTML Some of you may know as well as running this forum I am also the head moderator for the Aimoo user help forums, (http://help.aimoo.com) in this role I have been monitoring the downtimes on aimoo, over the last 3 months it has been getting worse and on the 7th of march we had 25 downtimes, the worst it has ever been, this forum unavailable as well as the official help forums being down there was nothing we could do. A group of us have been urging Aimoo to upgrade their servers and not the actual system itself, last time Aimoo upgraded in Nov 2007 it was a nightmare, we lost everything and spent months getting it back again, some we lost and never retrieved, many forums just closed down or were left. Aimoo has also messed up with the free forums and has at the moment got adverts for sex products (dildos etc, see here Clive) and there are 1000's up in arms about this, we don't have to worry as we are a paid for forum but this is just another example of the bad system aimoo has come to be. The reason I am writing this is to inform the members of this forum that if one day you cannot get in and it continues to be down go and check the http://dodge50.co.uk homepage as I will either have already set up a new forum or be in the process of doing so and there will be news about that there. I guess I am kind of pre empting another meltdown and want to have a place we can use if need be untill Aimoo comes back online, it might not happen but looking at the stats since Nov 2010 I feel it in my bones. The stats below are for 11th Nov 2010 to 7th March 2011  "Nothing travels faster than the speed of light with the possible exception of bad news, which obeys its own special laws."

After nearly 8 years I have set up a new forum on a new host, pro boards, if aimoo doesn't sort this mess out soon I will leave this shithole of a service, admin take notice, you will have no mods or support if you lose us. Sort it out now!!!! And stop ignoring us and telling members 'we are looking into it' or 'it runs well for us' because we are ALL fed up with your lip service, it is out of order and so are you. I know YOU are aimoo, there are no 'other' technicians and I guess there is so much wrong code you can't get through it all, the servers are overloading from requests etc.....or am I wrong, though you won't tell me I know that, just like when Joy, Conker, Da bald Guy etc were getting fed up to the back teeth back in 2003 / 4 with you and you never told anyone what was going on. You lost some of the best moderators / helpers aimoo has ever had, do you want to lose us too? My Patience has run it's course and I am going to start working on building my new forum up on pro boards as a back up, I have since Oct 2003 built a massive amount of information up and thankfully most of it is on my website NOT my forum. My wife is amazed I am still here, not only does she think you treat us so badly she thinks you should be paying us for running your help forum as that is what she sees, you come in and pay lip service and us mods actually answer and help your members.
