Hi,
Help please I have a S75 Renoylds Broughton 4x4 conversion with tipper and Hiab.
I have for the last six months been trying to get vosa to except my truck as tax exempt under agricultural / forestry use to use in my tree surgery business!
Unfortunatly my documents have come back ith clasification as HGV!!!

Does anyone have a truck that is tax / MOT exempt and could give me some advice as I wish to appeal?

Thanks

Rob

You cant have tax exempt but can have mot exempt, just need to download a v112g form from the dvla and when you go to buy tax (private hgv)  use that as a test exemption, your vehicle comes under dual purpose, you don't need to tell vosa or anything.

read this thread for lots more info  http://dodge50.aimoo.com/REGULATIONS-AND-LAW/Goods-vehicle-testing-exempt-v-1-1002860.html miss the first post as it is repeted with paragraphs as the second post, the first post is all squashed for some reason.

tax will not be free and if you have taxed as agri then you cant do more than 9km / 6 miles a week, if you get caught........could cost you a lot, also check to see if it has had red diesel in, if you get caught with red in the tank you will have to prove you are within 1 mile of your working land, you can only use red on the road  if you are going from one bit of land to another that you work / occupy and no more than 1 mile on the road.

if you use red and are not entitled to, they WILL impound and CRUSH your vehicle with NO chance of it being returned AT ALL and fine you a couple of grand too.

you can tax as private hgv and still claim mot exemption with a v112g form.
