Hi all, does anyone know if there are any reglations on fitting a bracket where a winch goes on an RB, on which i plan to carry a generator? The gene is 4.5k and weighs about 65kg and is petrol! Thanx for looking. H

Hi H.   I do not know if there would be any regulation against it. Common sense would consider sharp projections a hazard , But if an RB44 hits a pedestrian its not going to be much less problematic shall we say whatever is on the front.
Its a bit prone for thieves though.Perhaps with a well fitting cover over it things might be less provoking to the MOT man.
Cheers fella,  JB

Hi John, Thanks for the thoughts.  I was thinking of something along the lines of a pair of folding forks, that would fold up when not in use.  As i live in a city, the gene wouldnt live on the front of the truck, just transported from a to b, cos as you pointed out, it would get nicked.  It would be less questionable to the mot man this way to.  I have seen similar contraptions lying about on farms, and attached to gritting lorries(where plough attaches) and highway maintenance/survey trucks.  All result in a large protrusion from the front of the vehicle.  A small tarp or 'well fitting cover' would keep prying eyes away to. The truck would then also be truly dual purpose -4x4 generator/mobile home/workshop. Cheers. H
