Ok here are some ideas Tax it as is, using a v112g form (as dual purpose vehicle) , so no mot needed, insurance is though, drive it home, can be in any tax class to do this at a PO. .
Or Taxation class as special vehicles, but you cant change the taxation class at a PO anymore, has to be done at dvla when you tax it, so they will want an mot, if you use a v112g they might question why you don't need one, if you cannot convince them you don't need one, you will not get tax or a change of taxation.
If it is insured and booked in for a test, you can drive it towards that test, so book a test and go and pick it up on the day of the test, so if you get stopped you are driving to the test site, as long as it is booked in, you should be ok with no mot or tax, but ONLY if it is booked in.
So what is its taxation class now?
